Catholic Church Opposes Legalized Divorce in Philippines
Domineering religions always want to control all aspects of sex, marriage, and reproduction through politics no matter the country they are in. The same Catholic church is opposed to divorce, gays, pre marital sex, birth control, and choice everywhere else in the world as well. If they had their way all women would be controlled by their male parents until marriage and all marriages would be arranged.
“We will oppose any attempt to introduce divorce in the country,” Lipa Archbishop Ramon Arguelles, vice chairman of the Episcopal Commission on Family and Life of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (ECFL-CBCP), said.
The issue on the legalization of divorce in the country resurfaced following reports that the Mediterranean country of Malta approved divorce via a referendum vote last Sunday, leaving the Philippines as the only country not to legalize divorce.
The head of the National Appellate Matrimonial Tribunal of the CBCP is thankful that the Philippines remains the only country with no divorce.
